What is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Traditional Chinese Medicine is originated from China and has been used effectively in treatment for thousands of years. With the treatment ofChinese herbal medicine, nutrition and food cures, as well as mind & body therapy such as acupuncture, tai chi, and qi gong, traditional Chinese medicine aims to treat the root cause of the imbalance and disorder, and restore the strength and balance in the body in order to self-heal, and to further provide a long-lasting solution.
What to expect
TCM consists of many different practices, including acupuncture, moxibustion (using heat from burning herb to treat acupuncture points), Chinese herbal medicine, tui na (Chinese therapeutic massage), dietary therapy, and tai chi and qi gong (practices that combine specific movements or postures, coordinated breathing, and mental focus). TCM is rooted in the ancient philosophy of Taoism and dates back more than 2,500 years. Traditional systems of medicine also exist in other East and South Asian countries, including Japan (where the traditional herbal medicine is called Kampo) and Korea. Some of these systems have been influenced by TCM and are similar to it in some ways, but each has developed distinctive features of its own.
